St. Mary Student Parish has a rich liturgical life. Central to our parish is the celebration of the Eucharist. We encourage all our parishioners to prayerfully consider full, active, and conscience participation in our liturgies.

There are many opportunities to explore: playing a musical instrument, participation in one of our music teams, serving as a cantor, proclaiming the Word of God, distribute Communion, hospitality ministers, maintaining and decorating the church, and more.

ALTAR SERVERS

Altar servers assist the priest in the sanctuary during the Mass and other liturgical functions. This ministry is open to adults and youth who have made their First Holy Communion.

READERS

Through prayerful preparation, you proclaim God’s Word to the St. Mary community, as well as occasional announcements.

EUCHARISTIC MINISTERS

The priest is considered the ordinary minister of the Eucharist.  The laity participate in this ministry as extraordinary ministers of Communion, assisting the priest in the distribution of the Eucharist.  This ministry is open to practicing Catholics who have received the sacrament of Confirmation.

HOSPITALITY MINISTERS

Could you be a welcoming face for the people of St. Mary Student Parish? That is the role of our hospitality ministry; the people who assist students, community members, and visitors who attend Mass.

  • Most importantly, you will convey that we are a warm and welcoming community of faith.
  • Aid our Hospitality Greeters to welcome people as they arrive, finding volunteers to carry the gifts, and help with the collection.
  • When Mass is crowded, help those in need to find a seat.

GREETERS

Greeters welcome people as they arrive at Mass. They are also available to help answer questions that newcomers may have about St. Mary or simply direct people to where they can get their questions answered.

CHURCH ENVIRONMENT & ALTAR LINENS

Help create a prayerful place for all our Masses by preparing our sanctuary for each liturgical season.  Lastly, an Altar Linen ministry, who ensure the care of the sacred linens.
